A tribute to the Suruç Martyrs ! International Solidarity with the Kurdish People !

On 20 July 2015, a bombing took place at the Amara Culture Centre in Suruç (Turkey) where the Socialist Youth Associations Federation (SGDF) had gathered to assist in the rebuilding of the town of Kobanî in Rojava, the Syrian part of Kurdistan.

ISIL is clearly to blame for the attack, in collusion with the reactionary Turkish government. Since then, the Turkish government has stepped up its pursuit of Kurdish militants under the pretext of the fight against terrorism and at the same time seeking to stamp out Kurdish and international solidarity with Kobanî.

According to the latest figures the Suruç bombing left 33 people dead and a hundred more wounded. The victims included members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP), the Socialist Party of Refoundation (SKP) and anarchists, all fighting against the reactionary Justice and Development Party (AKAP) and ISIL and for a free Kurdistan.

For The Marxist-Leninist Communist Orgainsation (MLCO) - Proletarian Way several comrades fell on the 20 July and we send our condolences to their friends and to the organisations the victims belonged to and hope for a swift recovery of the many wounded.

MLCO Proletarian Way supports the national and social liberation of the Kurdish people in their fight against ISIL and against the reactionary regimes in the region.

MLCO Proletarian Way continues to call for the release of all of the Kurdish prisoners held in Turkey and France. We also demand that all of the Turkish and Kurdish progressive and revolution be removed from European Union’s list of designated terrorist organisations.

The Suruç martyrs fought for a future free from exploitation and oppression, for an internationalist future. Let us continue their fight !
